Slow news day at Stuff

So, more than five weeks after I went into an Auckland office to meet a personal friend, Stuff has come up with this ‘story’:

In case you haven’t read my previous blog post on this topic, let me just clarify:

• I was not at NBR for a job interview;

• As per my blog and this Stuff article: “I am a private citizen, who met up with a personal friend at their place of work”;

• I was introduced to the co-editors of NBR on my way out the door, and simply said hello and shook their hands.

I am sorry that this brief interaction made them feel so uncomfortable that they had to speak to the media about it.

And the fact they have “no interest” in working with me? Well - as I’d already said in the blog which Stuff clearly saw before publishing their story - I wasn’t there to interview for a job.

My last blog post was titled “Is this really news?”.

That question still stands.
